This is a new addition to my classroom this year. I thought it would be a good way to remind the kids of things happening each week as well as a good opportunity to see our weekly letter and sight word.

Each Monday I write the sight word and letter of the week, the name our our star person, and an important event that is happening that week. Each day our "day counter" writes how many days we have been in school as well as how many more days there are to a certain event we are looking forward to.

I purshased these chalkboard (super cheap) at Hobby Lobby. I painted the frames and used paint pens to write the permanant parts of the baord.

Our school custodian screwed them into the back of two small nightstand shelves I got at Target. The chalkboards/shelves are in the front of the room near our circle time carpet.

Here you can see the shelves.

The back of the chalk boards. This is where I keep all of the things we need for circle time / morning welcome.
