Fall is definitely my favorite time of year. There are so many fun holidays and celebrations and as the days grow colder and shorter I love to slow down a bit and enjoy some cozy time at home. There's lots to look forward to - special times with family and the anticipation of the coming Christmas season. I love that I have a job that allows me to celebrate the seasons - and fall most of all!
I wanted to take some time to share some of my favorite fall classroom traditions. We always begin the season by decorating our work bulletin board with these cute leaf animals. I simply ask the students to bring in some fall leaves and we create their leaf animals as one of our centers. I usually have the students create their animals and I do the gluing for them. I leave the board up all the way through November and we get tons of compliments! Click on the picture for the Pinterest link we get inspiration from:
For our outside fall bulletin board we use these fun Fall Is... papers and the students tell what fall smells like, feels like, sounds like, tastes like, and looks like to them. I LOVE their answers!

I always have to make at least one batch of Pumpkin Pie Play Doh. My class makes it for our Halloween cooking day and I also make some to hand out as gifts to my son's classmates. Get the recipe here:
